Associate Degrees
Associate of Arts/Associate of Science Degree in General Studies
SUU offers an Associate of Arts (AA) and an Associate of Science (AS) degree in general studies.
Candidates for either degree must:
- Complete a minimum of 60 credit hours (24 of the final 30 credit hours must be completed in residence).
- Achieve at least a 2.0 grade point average.
- Complete all SUU general education requirements.
In addition:
For AA degree: Complete eight hours of one foreign language, beyond the 1010 level.
For AS degree: complete of an additional three-hour course in an approved math or science discipline.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
Requirements:
- Complete a minimum of 64 credit hours.
- Complete course requirements of the subject major in one or more of the closely related applied technology programs. Achievement of an overall GPA of 2.0 ("C") is required.
- Complete 18 credit hours in general education from basic groups as specified, or as detailed in the various programs. Nine credit hours in separate areas of the four categories: fine arts, humanities, social sciences and science.
Associate of Pre-Engineering (APE)
Requirements:
- Complete a minimum of 65 credit hours.
- Complete course requirements in one of the eight engineering areas. A grade of "C" or better must be earned in each required course.
- Complete at least 10 credit hours of general education.
