Supplemental Instruction Payroll Forms
SPECIAL APPOINTMENT:
- This is to recommend for appointment Adjunct Professors ONLY.
- Please make sure you have all required signatures (initiating authority, dean or director and appointee) before forwarding to Provost’s office. In order to get your paperwork processed in a timely fashion, it is best to have all three of these signatures before it reaches our office (as opposed to following the numerical sequence recommended on the bottom of the page where the appointee signs after the provost has approved the contract. We are working on creating a new form to make this process clearer and more efficient.).
- When hiring a new adjunct, please attach the adjunct faculty member’s resume (CV) and transcript to the completed Special Appointment form. We MUST have these on file for every instructor. Later submissions for the same faculty member will not require you to attach a resume and transcript, unless the instructor has completed a higher degree since initial appointment (for example, they complete a PhD while teaching). Then we need the accurate updated information on file.
SUPPLEMENTAL OVERLOAD
- This is to provide supplemental compensation for teaching time faculty have over their regular load during the school year.
- This is also used to compensate any SUU contract employee who teaches a class.
- Please make sure you have all required signatures (initiating authority, dean or director, immediate supervisor if other than dean or director and appointee) before forwarding to Provost’s office.
SUMMER CONTRACTS:
- This is to provide compensation for teaching time for regular faculty in the summer (when faculty are off contract).
- Please make sure you have all required signatures (initiating authority, dean or director, immediate supervisor if other than dean or director and appointee) before forwarding to Provost’s office.
