Cumulative Giving

The Old Main Society

Those individuals, foundations and corporations making one-time gifts of $25,000 or more to the university, or cumulative gifts over several years of $25,000 or more, qualify for membership in the Old Main Society, the University's most prestigious giving society.

The members of the Old Main Society represent the spirit of dedication and sacrifice that fueled the construction of the University's historic first building. The result of that effort, a monument to education completed in the face of nearly overwhelming odds, remains a vital cornerstone of the Cedar City campus more than a century later.

According to SUU president Steven D. Bennion, that same sense of contribution and achievement remains at the heart of the Old Main Society, "As Old Main symbolized the history, spirit, achievements - indeed the essence of the university - so the members of the Old Main Society symbolize the enrichment of disciplines and activities through a partnership of private and public resources."
