Description GENERAL SUMMARY The Copywriter, under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications for Student Services, is responsible for initiating, recommending and preparing public information materials in a variety of written formats, including news releases, advertisements, newsletters, website and social media content, promotional and information materials, and video presentations for departments within Student Services. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Write copy for various booklets, brochures, social media, flyers and other marketing collateral. 2. Research, gather and provide copies of peer institution and national publications and websites. 3. Write feature articles for distribution to selected media and target audiences. 4. Generate website(s) content. 5. Implement social media strategy and campaigns. 6. Enhance social media presence by posting regular discussion topics and comments on Facebook, Twitter, and other similar online communities. 7. Create engaging content that is optimized for different media platforms, print and electronic. 8. Write scripts for various video projects. 9. Contribute to the development of strategic marketing and communication plans. 10. Offer insight in the concept development and copy of the projects created by the graphic designers. 11. Other duties as assigned.

Salary/Wage $7.50 DOE
Work Hours 5-10+ hours per week
Qualifications  1. Proficiency with both Mac and PC operating systems. 2. Ability to write copy for multiple brands. 3. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, collaboration systems, project management software and marketing campaign management software. 4. Ability to work under stress and handle unexpected situations. 5. Disciplined in time management, being able to organize, prioritize and attend meetings. 6. Past experience in business and marketing. 7. Habits of proper presentation and client interaction. 7. Understanding of social media, especially Facebook and Twitter, as a marketing tool. 8. Current on new media and technology trends. 9. Graphic Design experience is preferred.
