Bryce Canyon National Park Alliance for Education

SUU's Alliance for Education with Bryce Canyon National Park (NP) provides a world-class education and research venue for SUU faculty and students; in return, Bryce Canyon NP gains access to the resources and expertise of the University.  The original Alliance for Education--a one-of-a-kind relationship between a university and national park--was signed July 26, 2006, at a grand event on the rim of the canyon.  This 2006 press release from the SUU archives as well as this article from SUU's alumni magazine further details this unique partnership.

After a successful five years, the Memorandum of Understanding formalizing the Alliance was updated during the summer of 2011 in advance of the renewal of the Alliance for Education.  On July 29, 2011, dozens of park staff and university representatives once again gathered at the Park to commit to another five years.  Superintendent Jeff Bradybaugh and University President Michael T. Benson highlighted the activities detailed in this article from the SUU archives.
