The School of Business has offered a Masters of Accountancy (MAcc) degree for over 18 years. The MAcc was established to satisfy Utah’s requirement of 150 hours to take the Certified Public Accounting exam. The MAcc degree is designed to satisfy the 150-hour requirement with 30 hours of post-graduate education.
The graduate program provides greater breadth and depth to further develop the knowledge and skills to enter professional accountancy. With nearly a 100 percent placement rate, most MAcc graduates are employed by accounting firms or government agencies in Utah, Nevada, and California. Typical jobs include positions in taxation, auditing, and controllership.

"The SUU Accounting program helps students with what I feel are the three most important factors for a good program: It prepares students with the knowledge needed to pass the CPA exam, to be successful in their future career, and it helps students to more easily find a job in the accounting field after graduation.
Our accounting students are prepared with the knowledge they need through classes designed to prepare us for the CPA exam from professors who are knowledgeable in their field and truly care about helping their students be successful.
The reputation of the SUU Accounting program has caused many firms in Las Vegas and throughout Utah to make SUU students their number one choice for new employees. The Professional Accountancy Club at SUU helps students gain the tools they need for success during recruiting season as well as plans events so that students will have already met and made a good impression on key people at accounting firms before the official interview."

"Coming to SUU to earn a MAcc is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have been impressed with how much my professors care about my future success. I know that the professors at SUU have prepared me to start my career, and I am confident that I am just as prepared, if not better prepared than students from other universities.
The Professional Accountancy Club at SUU is one of the best run clubs I have ever been a part of. PAC has spent a lot of time building relationships with future employers. I am grateful for the opportunities that PAC gave me to network with future employers, and I know that PAC helped me to secure a job with Deloitte in Las Vegas, while still in my undergrad."
