MAJ Anderson was born on 9 May 1967 here in Cedar City Utah . He enlisted in the US Air Force in March 1988. He attended Basic Training at Lackland AFB, in San Antonio , TX . He then attended Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Shephard AFB, Wichita Falls , TX . MAJ Anderson was assigned to Loring AFB, Maine as a Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist. While at Loring AFB he was awarded the 42 nd CES Airmen of the Month and later the 42 nd CES Airmen of the Year.

In April of 1990 he was released from the Air Force to go to school. MAJ Anderson completed his Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Southern Utah University in 1995. Upon graduation he took a position with Alside Building Supply as their Operations Manger, and later as a Real-Estate agent in Cedar City . Simultaneously in 1994 he completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) at the Utah Military Academy and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant with the Utah Army National Guard in the Field Artillery. After completing Officer Basic Course (OBC) at Fort Sill , OK he was assigned to Bravo Battery 2-222 nd FA in St George, Utah . MAJ Anderson was the Fire Direction Officer, Executive Officer, and Battery Commander for Bravo Battery.

MAJ Anderson took a contract position with the Army ROTC at Brigham Young University under the alternate staffing with MPRI and the DOD. While at BYU he was the Assistant Professor of Military Science, Battalion Adjutant, and ISSO. In December of 2000 he became an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) officer and was moved to SUU.

MAJ Anderson is currently assigned to SUU Army ROTC program as the Officer in Charge, and Assistant Professor of Military Science.

MAJ Anderson has completed several military schools, which include: Basic Training and AIT, OCS, Field Artillery Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Service Staff School , Paladin Commanders Course, School of Cadet Command .

His awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (second award), Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (third award), National Defense Service Medal (second award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Air Force Service Ribbon, UTNG Medal of Merit, UTNG Unit Commendation Ribbon, UTNG Achievement Ribbon, UTNG Service Ribbon (third award), Airmen Of the Year, BG Frank Dalley Outstanding Lieutenant Leadership Award.

MAJ Anderson is married to the former Laurie Henrie from Panguitch UT. They have four children, Michael, Colby, Ashlee, and McClain.
