Study Abroad and Student Exchange Opportunities

Study Abroad

The Study Abroad Program gives students the opportunity to study a variety of subjects overseas.  Semester programs enable a student to study at partner universities in Europe or Mexico while paying SUU tuition and keeping financial aid.  Summer program costs vary according to location.

Cheryl Whitelaw, a math department faculty member, attended a summer program in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, in 2006. She and other SUU students and faculty studied German language, history, and culture.  A picture of the place she stayed while in Salzburg is posted in the math department's 2006-2007 picture gallery. Please contact Cheryl if you'd like to ask about her very enjoyable experience.

The picture on the right is an 18th century horse bath that Cheryl tracked down in Salzburg, Austria.  Notice the famous Salzburg fortress on the horizon. The artist of the horse bath wove the date of the structure into the gold-lettered phrase above the statue, LeopoLDVs prInCeps Me eXtrVXIt.  The capital letters are Roman numerals that add to be 1732, the year it was built. See the picture of the engraving below.

National Student Exchange

The National Student Exchange allows students to attend another university for up to one year.  Again, it is possible to pay SUU tuition and keep one's financial aid.  Participating campuses are located in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Please see SUU's NSE Website for more information.
