Welcome to the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History

The Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History was made possible with the support of Garth and Jerri Frehner. Steadfast believers in the value of education, the Frehners are Southern Utah University Modern Day Founders. They have used their shared passion for big game hunting for the edification of others, which can be seen in their gorgeous exhibit of large and small game animals at the Museum. Garth and Jerri's generosity provides University students, staff, and faculty as well as Cedar City residents with the opportunity to learn about our natural world.

Admission to the museum is free and we are open to the public.

Our hours are from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Tours are available for schools and other groups by advance appointment.

We are located on the first floor of the Science Addition Building (SCA) on the southeast corner of campus.

Please note that the museum has a separate outdoor entrance on the west side of SCA that is ADA accessible.

This summer of 2015 we are participating in the Cedar City Art Walk. We are featuring two artists, Joey Favino and Larry Laskowski. Please come by to view their art during normal hours or during our special hours (5-8pm) the Final Fridays of June, July (7/31), and August (8/28).

To speak with museum staff please call 435-865-8547. The Museum Coordinator is Dr. Jacqualine Grant and she may be reached at (435) 865-8549 or by email at jacqualinegrant@suu.edu. You may also contact us by using our contact page.

This summer we are working on a noninvasive mammal research project. Read about it on our blog: https://memoirsfromtheanimalinmytrap.wordpress.com/
