The purpose of this organization is to develop character, good sportsmanship, leadership and encourage social and recreational activity. To develop team unity, build school spirit and loyalty, render service to
school by participating in activities, and at various school community events.Some of the Activites and Responsibilities of a Waukeenyan Member during the a year:
*** Performing at Football games (halftime)
*** Performing at Basketball games (halftime and timeouts)
*** New!!! Performing at gymnastics meets
*** Performing at High School competitions (Entertainment)
*** Year End Show for the Waukeenyans
*** Fundraisers
*** Services projects
*** USA Collegiate Dance Nationals Competition
*** Community and University sponsered activities (Mardigras, The Howl, Follies, Street Festival, and more)
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be registered for Waukeenyans (PE 1630). Team members shall be selected after auditions. Members must also maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. As a member enrolled in (PE 1630) you will receive a grade based on you attendance, tardies, performances, and RELIABILITY. Practices will be held from 6:30-8:30am Monday thru Friday. This time is subject to change and all members will be informed promptly if changes occur to avoid conflict with college school schedule.
WAUKEENYAN PRACTICE IS PART OF A COMMITMENT TO BEING A MEMBER OF THIS TEAM !!!!!!Membership Fee:
The membership fee will pay for warm-ups, T-shirts, dance clothes, and any other items we may fit into this fee. Members will be responsible for paying for their own shoes. If a member of the Waukeenayans terminates her membership by her choice or by the choice of the director or for any reason at all, she is responsible to return all uniforms and to pay any balance due.
THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS !!!!!!
As of right now we're working on some other options for this program, so the information above is subject to change for next year. As things change and more information becomes available we will update this sight. The changes that may be made are to better the program, so if you're interested in being a member of the SUU drill team we encourage you to tryout.
