Office of Enterprise Risk Management
The Office of Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for developing and implementing the university's enterprise risk management (ERM), compliance, and safety programs with an objective to assist the campus community strategically, proactively, and effectively manage risks that impact its strategic goals. To accomplish this, the Office of ERM will play a key role in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders of the University to promote compliant decision-making, apply best practices for safety and integrate risk mitigation practices into routine operations.
Enterprise Risk Management Program
The Office of Enterprise Risk Management, in conjunction with the Enterprise Risk management Committee, coordinates the efforts of the University’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program. It provides a framework and processes for the identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of risks and opportunities to the achievement of the University’s strategic goals and mission.
Risk Management
Risk Management is a part of the Office of Enterprise Risk Management at Southern Utah University. It provides a variety of traditional risk management services to minimize the impact/likelihood of risk in an array of matters. In addition to these services, we also work with all departments on campus to provide education so they can become a part of the risk process. We work to engage each department so they can identify, analyze, and control the risk of loss for their specific areas because here at SUU, EVERYONE is a Risk Manager (ERM).
Compliance
Southern Utah University is committed to operating ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. SUU has established a network of University leaders and managers providing subject matter expertise in a range of compliance areas. The Compliance Program is overseen by the Office of Enterprise Risk Management and the University Compliance Committee with support from a compliance working group made of key compliance owners and other senior leadership.
Environmental & Occupational Safety
The Office of Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for supporting campus efforts to provide an environment of health and safety here on SUU’s campus. We provide important information about federal, state, and local health and safety regulations as well as current professional practices and guidelines. Our goal is to prevent injury, illnesses and environmental damage through the recognition, evaluation, and control of potential hazards arising from university activities.
