The SUU Woodwind and Brass Ensembles perform a joint free concert on Thursday, November 15th in Thorley Recital Hall at 7:30pm. Under the direction of Dr. Virginia Stitt, the Woodwind Ensemble performs Arthur Woodbury's "When Nod Dreams," selections from 'Jazz Suite' by Joseph Horowitz, several movements from 'Tortoise Suite' by Helga Warner-Buhlmann and Franz Lehar's "Gold and Silver Waltzes." A special highlight will be a series of classic children's songs arranged by Christopher Weait. SUU's rousing Brass Ensemble also appears under the direction of Dr. Adam Lambert. Their program includes Gioachino Rossini's William Tell Overture, Jose Padilla's El Relicario, Victor Ewald's No. 3 Quintet, Op. 7; Eric Ewazen's Western Fanfare and several Dixie Land classics.
