SUU's April Music Ensembles - Woodwind & Brass

On Wednesday, April 9th, the Woodwind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Virginia Stitt, performs a program that includes Giovanni Gabrelli’s "Canzon seconda a quattro" and Toshi Nagata’s "Sonatine for Woodwind Quartet." A flute trio plays Joseph Bodin de Boismortier‘s “Sonata in b minor, Op. 7, No. 2” and a clarinet trio performs “Rustic Dances” by Václav Nelhýbel. The concert also features the Saxophone Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Thomas Herb, performing Antonin Dvorak’s “Slavic Dance No. 8” arranged by Claire Tomsett, Gustav Holst’s “Intermezzo from First Suite in Eƅ” arranged by David Bussick and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine” arranged by Dr. Herb. The evening also features a performance by the Brass Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Adam Lambert. The recital takes place in Thorley Recital Hall in SUU's Music Building and begins at 7:30pm.
