Motivate your teenager’s creativity over the long summer months with the new SUMA Summer Camp. Students ages 13-18 are invited to attend one, or more, of three sessions, providing historical context, technical workshops, and college and career preparation in the topics of Public Art, Digital Design, and Traditional Media. Each workshop will provide opportunities to learn from professionals in the field. Registration for the Public Art and Digital Design sessions are $100 and the Traditional Media, which will include over $50 in Supplies, is $120. The Traditional Media session runs from July 28- August 8, 2014. In this session students will explore major themes in art history and apply theories of visual art masters during hands on workshops. Professional artists will share valuable skills and techniques to take participants painting and drawing skills to the next level. Students will have the opportunity to create portfolio quality artwork that can be used for college applications and professional interviews. In addition to valuable mentorship, each participant will receive over $50 in supplies included in their registration for the camp.
