Qualifications: Dr. Kyle Bishop holds a bachelor's of arts in humanities and an emphasis in art history and minors in German, English, and music. His master's of arts in English has an American studies and film studies emphasis, and his Ph.D. focused on American literature and film studies. Dr. Bishop's dissertation explored the culture history of the American zombie film tradition in terms of Gothic literature and has 20 graduate credit hours specifically in film studies.

He published his dissertation as the book American Zombie Gothic in 2010, and published nine peer-reviewed journal articles on film and television texts. He wrote and published a number of book chapters, encyclopedia entries, and book reviews, mostly on zombie studies. Dr. Bishop has spoken on the zombie phenomenon at Brown University and at universities in Hawai'i, Montreal and Spain. With his unique expertise, he has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal and HuffPost Live, and appeared as a featured "zombie expert" in the 2014 documentary Doc of the Dead.

Qualifications: Eric Kirby is the executive director of the Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics & Public Service. He returned to Southern Utah University in 2012 after spending several years practicing law with one of Colorado’s most respected civil litigation law firms. Kirby earned his B.A. in political science with a minor in business management at SUU. Upon graduating from Southern Utah University, Kirby interned with U.S. Senator Orrin G. Hatch and the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, DC. He then went on to obtain his master’s of administration and juris doctorate degrees from the University of Denver. Upon graduating from law school, Kirby successfully passed the bar exams in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. On three separate occasions, Kirby has been selected as a Legal Rising Star, an award presented by Super Lawyers (Thomas Reuters) to less than 3 percent of attorneys based on peer recognition and professional achievement.

Qualifications: Ryan Yonk is an assistant professor of political science at SUU where he started the Institute for Policy Analysis (IPA). At the IPA they focus on giving students research opportunities while educating them on political issues and putting out forward thinking policy analysis. During his time at SUU he has co-authored two books, "Green versus Green: The Political, Legal, and Administrative Pitfalls Facing Green Energy Production" and "Direct Democracy in the United States: Petitioners as a Reflection of Society." He also works as a research fellow at the Independent Institute. He is one of the founding members of Strata where he currently serves as the executive director.

Qualifications: G. Michael Stathis, earned a bachelor's in political science with emphasis on international relations and the Middle East from the University of Utah which he followed with an MA in Middle East Studies-Persian in 1976 from the Middle East Center at the University of Utah. In 1995 Dr. Stathis received a Ph.D. in International Relations (Law, Organization, and Politics) from the University of Utah. Since 1974 he has taught courses in political science and the Middle at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, and has been teaching at Southern Utah University since 1991. He has published a number of scholarly pieces regarding political science, international relations, and the Middle East. He has presented papers in Istanbul, Turkey and Vancouver, B.C. in Canada, and has lectured at the University of Jordan in Amman. Currently, Dr. Stathis is Professor of Political Science and International Relations and Director of the Undergraduate Certificate of International Relations at Southern Utah University.
