Dr. Daphne Solomon is an assistant professor at Southern Utah University in the nursing program. She has a long history of educational effort at SUU. Daphne received her Associate of Science in Nursing from the cooperative Weber State/SUU nursing program here in Cedar City in 2003. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUU and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in both family and geriatric primary care at the University of Utah. Daphne was recognized as the outstanding clinician in each of her programs of study. Upon completion of her studies at the U of U, Daphne was nationally certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She maintains licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner and practices in Cedar City.
Daphne has 27 years of service in health care, beginning as a medical assistant when her family was young. As a licensed practical nurse she worked in long term care, focusing her efforts and practice on the geriatric population. After earning her RN, Daphne worked in acute care specializing in medical oncology nursing as well as home health and hospice. Daphne also served in nursing administration at, Valley View Medical Center. Daphne has raised her children in Cedar City with her husband Rohn, also a member of the SUU staff, and is happy to call Cedar City and SUU home.
