Earl Mulderink has been teaching at SUU since 1995 and has offered a wide range of courses in United States, African-American, and African history. He is a strong proponent of service-learning and experiential education. With a scholarly interest in the social history of the Civil War era, he recently published New Bedford's Civil War (Fordham University Press, 2012). He earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in U.S. history at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, following his undergraduate degree as a history major at Northwestern University.
