Shelley Sanderson is an assistant professor at Southern Utah University in the nursing program. Shelley received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah. She earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah where she specialized as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Upon completion of her studies at the University of Utah, Shelley was nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She maintains licensure and practices as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Family Practice in Enterprise, Utah.
Shelley has 19 year's experience as a clinical nurse and 1 year of experience in nursing education. She has worked in long term care, acute care, public health, school health, home health, renal clinic, hospice and cancer treatment settings. Shelley has experience in direct care and administration in home health and renal clinic settings.
Shelley is planning to pursue a PhD in Nursing. Her areas of interest include nursing education, health promotion and health disparities.
