2013 Art of Literature Festival

Do-Over  Sowder and Tohe  Childs, Chesher, Aton  Hemley and Hirshfield  Come Thief

The Art of Literature is a partnership between Southern Utah University and the Utah Humanities Book Festival with the intent of bringing writers to the Southern Utah area. University co-sponsors include SUU Convocations, the President’s Office, the Provost’s Office, Friends of the Library, the Center for Teaching and Faculty Excellence, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the English Department. Community partners include Artisan’s Gallery, Main Street Books, Cedar City Arts Council, and Z-Arts of Springdale.

This partnership will involve bringing writers to the SUU campus through the venues of a creative writing and education conference and a series of readings and panel discussions. These events will be associated with the Utah Humanities Book Festival. The events will be hosted on the SUU campus during the fall of  2013 and will involve readings, panel discussions, workshops, class visits, and exhibits. Several events will be free and open to the public, including the readings, panel discussions, and exhibits.
