Student Computing

General Account Information

Logging In:

PC: The open labs and flex labs have Windows XP installed in them. To login on a Windows machine, type in your username, tab to the next field and type in your password and press enter. In departmental labs, the login procedure may vary. Check with the department for login instructions.

MAC: We have three labs of iMAC computers at SUU. They are used primarily for classes but do have some limited open lab time.

Account Duration:

A student's account is valid for as long as they are a registered student. If a student is not a registered student for any semester except for Summer Semester, your account will be deleted that semester, and all the files associated with that account will also be deleted. You will also lose access to your email address as well.

Disk Space:

Students are given 100 MB of personal disk space and at least 6 gigabytes of storage.

Lab Courtesy & Etiquette:

Because of the public nature of the computer labs, your behavior has a direct impact on other students. The computer resources are provided for SUU students to enhance their educational experience. Recreational use of the computers is allowed, but please remembers that priority is given to those students who have homework to complete. We also want to provide an environment that is conducive to learning. Loud, obnoxious behavior and vulgarity are counterproductive to the learning process.
