Aimee Peterson

Aimee Peterson graduated from Cedar High in 2009 where she was an active member of the honor society, Athena service club, track, and swim teams.

After graduation Aimee competed in her first scholarship pageant and became Miss Iron County 2010.  She spent the next year promoting her service platform of Being HeadSmart; educating children, teens, and adults of the importance of helmets.  Aimee was able to represent Iron County in the Miss Utah pageant where she received the Miss America community service award.

In 2011 Aimee interned with the United States Senate Finance Committee in Washington D.C. There she spent four months experiencing firsthand the difficulties and frustrations associated with budgets and finances in our nation’s capital.  She also gained an appreciation for our country’s rich heritage and the great work of our founding fathers in establishing the freedoms and rights that we are all privileged to enjoy.

Having been bitten by the political “bug” Aimee was nominated and elected as a county and state delegate to represent precinct 14 at their respective conventions.

Aimee is currently in her senior year at Southern Utah University majoring in accounting and planning to pursue joint Master degrees in business and accounting.  She works as a manager at Christensens Dept. Store, attends school full time, enjoys running, swimming, reading, and believes that sleep can fix anything!
