Jay Sorensen

Jay is a 25 year old Masters student studying Marketing and International relations at Southern Utah University. Jay completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science & Communication at SUU. His senior thesis discussed the role of mainstream media and it’s influences on American politics and social issues. 

Jay was the Student Director of the Leavitt Center for Politics from 2011-2012. He has interned in Salt Lake City as a legislative intern, and in Washington, D.C. as an intern for the Bennett Consulting Group.

This fall Jay will move to China where he will be the Program Director for the American Cultural Center at Hunan Normal University in Changsha. This State Department sponsored center will serve as his final project for his Masters degree in Professional Communication. Jay plans to work in international relations following the completion of his education.
