Neal Mason is a Political Science major from South Jordan, Utah. Since transferring from Snow College, Neal has been involved in planning and coordinating campus activities in various roles including Vice President of the Political Science Honors Society Pi Sigma Alpha, Executive Council member for the Leavitt Center, and Department Representative for Political Science and Criminal Justice in SUUSA. He has worked for the Joseph Smith Papers Project as a citation editor, research assistant for the Center for Public Lands and Rural Economics, and currently works as a managing research assistant for Institute of Policy Analysis. In this capacity, he has researched and written pieces on Medicaid eligibility, rural broadband access, environmental litigation, green energy development, and environmental policy. He currently volunteers as a coach for Special Olympics Utah and works with terminally-ill patients for Southern Utah Home-care and Hospice. Neal enjoys helping out on his grandpa’s ranch, wakeboarding, camping, hiking, judging high school debate, and playing soccer.
