Currently on exhibit at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah University is an impromptu presentation of work by four artists included in the Fall 2004 Arts Major Seminar Series.

The individuals included represent a balance between the fine and applied arts: Dave Richardson, Graphic Designer and Assistant Professor at SUU; Brian Kershisnik, painter; Robert Neubecker, illustrator; Richard Leray, artist and master craftsman.

The Exhibit includes in-person lectures, at designated times, by each of the artists. This opportunity to see a diverse range of visual artists present and speak about their work will provide students, faculty and the community with a weekly infusion of visual art from "the outside world."

Dave Richardson will present on September 9 at 7 p.m. in the PE Building at SUU, Room 101

Dave is the newest faculty member of SUU’s Art Department. He comes from Indiana University in Bloomington. He will augment the rapidly-growing Graphic Design program with expertise in new media technologies, specifically interactive and web design. "Views of Home," a multimedia project Dave developed in 2003, is on display in the Artichoke Gallery portion of the Braithwaite Gallery.

Brian Kershisnik will present on September 16 at 7p.m. in the PE Building, Room 101

According to Brian Kershisnik, his lyrical paintings facilitate his personal quest in becoming human. "Through art we can come to feel and understand and love more completely – we become more human." Brian resides in Kanosh, Utah. More information about him and his work is available at www.kershisnik.com.

Robert Neubecker will present on September 30 at 7 p.m. in the PE Building, Room 101

An “idea” person, Robert is able to distill complex information into direct, biting visual representations underscoring the notion that "a picture is worth a thousand words." This show presents many of his award-wining original illustrations alongside the reproductions. Robert resides in Park City, Utah. To learn more about Robert, visit www.neubecker.com.

Richard Leray will present on November 4 at 7 p.m. in the PE Building, Room 101
