Final SUU Cardboard Drive

Published: December 21, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minutes

Start those New Year’s resolutions early by reducing your carbon footprint at Southern Utah University’s final cardboard drive. With new toys comes new boxes, and Next Saturday, December 29, Cedar City residents can recycle, rather than trash, all that Holiday trash.

The drive, which will be held from 9-11 a.m. at SUU’s baseball field parking lot on University Boulevard between 800 West and 1150 West, is the final cardboard drive SUU will hold; the University will turn the recycling services over to the experts in the new year.

SUU continues to be interested in helping students and citizens across the county think green, and University recycling proponents hopes local efforts will continue to grow in 2008. According to SUU Recycling Coordinator Tim Gray, “there is no need for SUU to repeat the services that are now being offered daily in the area through Pure Recycling.”

As for this final cardboard drive at SUU, residents are asked to only bring their cardboard between the hours of the drive, and to ensure all cardboard is broken down in advance if at all possible.
