Southern Utah's Sharla Manuele has been named a U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-American after her showing at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend. The Enterprise native finished 16th in the nation and recorded SUU's first all-American citation since 2006.
Manuele qualified for the indoor track and field championships by way of a school-record time of 4:39.82 in the mile. Her time of 4:54.15 was off of her qualifying time, but was good enough for 16th in the field.
She will now turn her attention to the outdoor season as the Thunderbirds continue at the Stanford Invitational on March 26-27.
