The Harry Reid Center for Outdoor Engagement will kick-off its Peer Adventure Series this Saturday with a trip to Red Cliff Desert Reserve in St. George. This trip is the first in an ongoing series of adventures hosted by the Harry Reid Center for Outdoor Engagement and SUU Peer Adventure.

To celebrate the launch of this new program the Outdoor Engagement Center will be providing a “weenie roast” lunch during the Red Cliff trip, as well activities including a hike, rock-climbing, marshmallow roasting and more. Those T-Bird students who would like to attend the kick-off event should meet at the SUU Outdoor Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday to carpool to St. George.

The Peer Adventure Series is a new program sponsored by the Harry Reid Center for Outdoor Engagement to provide outdoor trips, activities and education to the University community.

All related events will be organized and led by members of the university community, including faculty, staff and students. The primary source of leadership for the program will provided by SUU Pacesetters, an outdoor leadership program on campus.

The Red Cliff Desert Reserve is a 62,000 acre reserve stretching from Hurricane to Ivins. The Pioneer Park section of the reserve, where Peer Adventure will be visiting, is a unique slick rock location and home to narrow slot canyons, natural arches and other desert attractions.
