Southern Utah University's Cameron Levins will travel to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago this weekend, racing for team Canada in the annual North American, Central American and Caribbean Cross Country Championships on Saturday, March 17.

Levins will be competing at the meet for the second year in a row, having punched his ticket by way of a first-place finish at the Canadian Cross Country Championships back in November. His first-place finish in that event was his second consecutive gold medal in the Canadian Championship.

Levins finished in second place at the 2011 NACAC Cross Country Championships, finishing the 8k course with a time of 23:46, but will have a great deal of momentum in 2012 after putting in a pair of All-American performances at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships last weekend. The senior recorded a fourth-place finish in the men's 5k and third-place finish in the 3k the very next night.

The 2012 NACAC cross country course will be an 8k, but will not afford teams a berth to the 2012 World Championships which will not be held this year because of the Olympic Games in London.
