Travel down Abbey Road with this year’s Utah Summer Games Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, June 12 where everyone can twist and shout to their favorite British Invasion songs with the truly authentic Beatle’s tribute band, The Return.

Back by popular demand, The Return strives to bring the utmost level of authenticity to the stage, and in fact they are known for it, after playing on Good Morning America, fans stated, “They were great! Their energy and enthusiasm jumps off the stage. It was quite fun to watch them and imagine what it must have been like at an actual Beatles concert!”

Along with The Return, Upper Limit Aviation will perform a 15-helicopter air show and 9,000 plus athletes will participate in the traditional parade of athletes. And in true Olympic form, there will be a torch run and firework show all within Eccles Coliseum at Southern Utah University.

In its 29th year, the Utah Summer Games has continued to be a longstanding tradition in southern Utah and across the state, drawing athletes from the toddling three-year old to the gray-haired 90-year-old, and ranging in skill and experience who come from across Utah and neighboring states to test their mettle far beyond the competition within their own town or region.

The Opening Ceremonies have long been a seasonal highlight to near sellout crowds year after year. General admission tickets for the 2014 Opening Ceremonies, which are $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-11, are now on sale through SUU’s Centrum Ticket Office.

The 2014 Utah Summer Games will run June 5-29, with competition venues across southern Utah and sports ranging from bowling to arm wrestling to soccer.
