Majors & Programs of Study

Dance Education

The dance program is dedicated to giving students the opportunity to develop their individual skills and strengths to prepare them to enter a professional, graduate or educational field. Students have the opportunity to study modern dance, ballet, character, tap and jazz. Additionally, dance education majors graduate with an understanding of the state of Utah and national dance standards and acquire a working knowledge of teaching skills to ably communicate the art of dance to students.

High school dance educator
Desert Hills High School

"SUU efficiently guided me in my journey to be where I love to be today, teaching my passion for the art of dance to middle and high school aged students. SUU gave me the contacts and the recommendations I would need to be hired into the education world. I would never be where I am today, teaching dance full time at Desert Hills High School, without the guidance from SUU’s dance and education departments."
