Favorite Building on Campus: The Braithwaite Liberal Arts Center where I spent many hours in classes soaking in the wisdom dripping from the tongues of professors who were experts in their field. I loved my major.
What little known fact about SUU do you like to share most? If you give a noogie to the bald-headed statue of former-president Jerry Sherratt in the library before a test, it will bring you good luck.
Favorite Quote: "Do something every day that scares you half-to-death" because when you accept hard things, one day you will wake up and realize how strong you have become.
Hobbies and Interests: Traveling, singing in my car, playing the piano, acting, remodeling my house, jogging and 1/2-marathoning, throwing Neil Diamond parties and scouting out eclectic mom & pop restaurants.
Favorite Place to Eat in Cedar City: It's a toss-up between the Pastry Pub, the Pizza Factory, and Lupita's Mexican Restaurant - all tasty Cedar City originals.
People would be surprised to know that: More than 80% of SUU students come from outside of the greater Cedar City area, so if you come by yourself, you're not alone. It's easy to make connections and build relationships quickly at SUU because everyone can relate.
Best bit of advice for students looking for a college/university? Each institution has different strengths and there is a good fit for everyone. Take the time to do the research - visit the different campuses, talk to current students and professors in your field, and find out which institution best matches your interests and goals.
Most embarrassing "college" moment: I have an awful memory for lyrics - not a good skill as a performer - and had many incidents in front of large crowds when the adrenaline kicked in and my mind went blank on solos. We'll just say I have been creative with lyrics on more than one occasion. It's always funny...afterwards.
Years working at SUU: Between being a student and a professional at SUU = 9 years.
