Education Programs made possible by the Friends of the Gallery
The Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery’s education programming develops and implements engaging and high-quality educational experiences for visitors to the Gallery including families, school groups and the visiting public.
This semester, students will experience Jim Jones: Recent Paintings, an exploration of the Southern Utah landscape. Through Gallery tours, lesson plans and other activities students will learn about the concept of landscapes. During the Gallery tour students will participate in a mini-lesson about art, galleries, and landscapes; go on a guided tour of the Jim Jones: Recent Paintings exhibit; take part in a scavenger hunt; and create landscape artwork through texture rubbings.
In the spring, middle and high school students have the opportunity to participate in the Exhibiting Student Art Program where they will learn about the exhibiting process. Artwork will come from elementary students who will exhibit work in the Landscapes: Changing with the Seasons exhibition.
