The Veterans Services Office staff at Southern Utah University is here to help prospective students who are eligible for Veterans Affairs based education benefits. We can assist with the process of eligibility, admissions, registration, and certification. Awarding Military Credit

The process for awarding military credit at SUU has changed recently to be compliant with HB 32. Students wishing to receive academic credit for prior military experience will need to:

a. provide an official Joint Services Transcript (ACE Transcript) to the Admissions Office;

b. meet with an academic adviser to determine if applying said military credit is in the student's best interest, noting that the student may apply all or none of the credit;

c. submit a signed Request for Military Experiential Credit form to the Registrar's Office. 

To complete the Request for Military Experiential Credit, the student will need to meet with their academic adviser and the University Veteran's Specialist to discuss possible benefits and pitfalls of applying this credit to their records. Once the credit has been applied, it cannot be removed. This may have future financial and academic ramifications.
