SUU's Office of Learning Abroad (OLA) provides numerous options for SUU students wanting to enrich their learning through study abroad. The office’s primary goal is to encourage and enable the entire SUU community–students, faculty, staff, and alumni–to experience the richness of other cultures, to honor diversity, to practice empathy, and to find personal fulfillment. - Did you know . . . in the 2025-2026 academic year, over 400 SUU students studied abroad on both semester-long and short-term programs in 25 different countries.
- The Global Review is SUU's own international study abroad-based journal. Anyone who has studied abroad and is interested in sharing their work and being published should submit!
- SUU offers a Global Studies Minor for all students who want to enhance their undergraduate degree. To get started, enroll in HSS 2000 Intro to Global Studies (1 CH, online).
- Through the self-paced online Global Engagement Academy, SUU faculty and staff can improve their intercultural communication skills and learn how to build a study abroad or virtual exchange program.
- SUU Students Experience the Rhythm of Rio (July 27, 2026) - For two weeks this summer, SUU Percussion students traded Cedar City for Rio de Janeiro, immersing themselves in the vibrant musical culture of Brazil.
- Dean Oliver Shares Baseball Through International Education (July 20, 2026) - Dean of Health Sciences Tony Oliver recently traveled to England, where he partnered with Harlaxton College to bring baseball skills to youth at the Inspire+ Mini-Olympics.
- SUU Professor Begins International Education Collaboration (March 17, 2026) - Dr. Earl Mulderink, history professor at SUU, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialist Program at the University of Debrecen in Hungary.
