19 Things to Do/Places to See this Spring

Things are warming up in southern Utah. With a rise in temps comes a need to get out and adventure.
Here are 19 things to do in Cedar City this spring:
- Pack a lunch, invite friends and find the perfect spot to lay out a picnic on campus.
- Explore the historical structures at the grounds at Frontier Homestead State Park.
- From easy to technical, Cedar City boasts miles and miles of trails for all types of mountain bikers.
- The Southern Utah Museum of Art hosts free events for the public, including Family Arts Night Series and Art Insights events.
- Catch one of Cedar's legendary sunsets at the top of the C. The "C Overlook" includes parking and viewing areas and the large white painted "C" on the mountainside.
- Walk Main Street to explore evidence of the roots of Cedar City, architecture, and appreciate the center of our small town
- Hike, fish or kayak at Navajo Lake, located 26 miles east of Cedar City.
- Support SUU Athletic spring events like softball, golf, tennis, track & field and gymnastics. Admission for students is free.
- Take a trip to Zion National Park before the summer rush of tourists hits.
- See the newest movie on $5 Tuesdays at the Megaplex Cedar Stadium, plus get deals on concessions.
- Eat at a local restaurant you've never been to. Consider Centro, The Pastry Pub, Main Street Grill or Sonny Boys.
- Visit all the statues on SUU's campus.
- Play all 18 holes at the Cedar Ridge Golf Course.
- Witness the incredible dark skies at Cedar Breaks National Monument.
- Visit Parowan Gap, a place of over 1,000 years of accumulated petroglyphs.
- Cast a line: fishing spots are all around Cedar City, including Yankee Meadow Reservoir, Navajo Lake, Lake on the Hill, and Minersville.
- Red Cliffs Recreation Area is a short, scenic and fun trail with a waterfall finale.
- The Artisans Gallery has a wide selection of paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures and music.
- Each March events are held on the SUU campus for Founders Week, a celebration of the university's birthday.
