The small class sizes and supportive and approachable instructors led her to the Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business, where she earned a double master’s degree in Business Administration and Business Analytics.

“The SUU MBA program provided me with the knowledge to feel comfortable in my future career as a data analyst,” said Doris. “I met great people, colleagues, and professionals who are successful and are my motivation to keep working hard.”

According to Doris, some of her most influential mentors during her time at SUU were former professor of economics, Joshua Price, and the current Career Services Coordinator, Madalyn Swanson. Their positivity and support encouraged Doris to push herself to continue learning and was something she could rely on during her time in the program.

Doris started at SUU as an assistant coach for the women's tennis team and was active in the athletics department, while also studying business. After realizing her love for data analytics, she decided to earn a second master’s degree in business analytics at the Leavitt School of Business. Doris is currently working as a professional in tennis and manages her own tennis club in Boulder Colorado. She looks forward to continuing her career in data analytics and using her background in the field to help people.

One of the most influential experiences at the Leavitt School of Business for Doris was the technical and managerial skills earned through the program, as well as the various networking opportunities offered. Doris’s advice to students is to, “Ask questions, and don’t be shy. There is always someone at the Leavitt School of Business building willing to help you.”

The Master’s of Business Administration at the Leavitt School of Business is designed to support and strengthen students during and after they complete the program, enabling them to become competent business professionals prepared with the knowledge and skills that are essential in the field.
