P-12 Programs - Professional Development for In-Service P-12 Teachers
Southern Utah University’s (SUU) P-12 Program's mission is to offer P-12 schools affordable graduate education opportunities through general professional development, state department of education endorsements, and alternative pathways into the master of education ( M.Ed.).
Located within the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD), we provides university professional development credit for:
- P-12 School Professionals
- Workforce Professionals
- Community Organizations
- Conferences
Continuing Teacher Education Application
SUU's P-12 Programs provide university credit to our partners based on the needs of their participants at a very low cost. All courses are recorded on a university transcript with a course number of “5XXX”.
If you would like to be registered for additional courses in a semester for which you have already applied, complete the Add Courses form.
Courses and Pricing
There are multiple options for courses to help you pick what works best for you. Most of these courses are taught fully online in 7 week asynchronous format.
If you want to further your degree, 12 credits (4 classes) of either an Endorsement or APPEL program can enroll you into SUU's M.Ed. Program. You will have 1/3 of the degree completed!
APPEL/APPEL SpEd
The APPEL/APPEL SpEd courses allow someone with a Bachelors degree obtain a teaching license. This enables district workers to get license without doing another 4-year degree.
Endorsement
Endorsements are for teachers who already have a professional license to get a specialty course work that goes on there transcript.
P-12 Conferences
These conferences give educators credit on their transcripts. These do not count towards APPEL or Endorsement programs.

Policies
These policies apply to Southern Utah University P-12 courses taught through our partners in their area and in-house on campus.
Transcripts
Before ordering and making payment for an official University transcript, students are responsible to view their unofficial transcript to ensure all data is correct and all grades have been rolled.
If a student orders an official transcript and then discovers an error on said transcript, the student will be responsible for paying for and ordering another transcript with the correct information.
Decision Appeal
If you feel a decision needs to be appealed.
