MPA Scholarships Opportunities
Help us support our MPA Students as they sharpen their public service leadership skills. The MPA Program develops our students through engaged learning opportunities, reflective practices, and a dedication to civic responsibility in concert with SUU’s commitment to personalized experiential learning.
We currently have two specific scholarship awards for MPA students:
The Dr. Patricia Keehley MPA Endowed Scholarship
Background:
Dr. Pat Keehley, Associate Professor, Emerita, and public service professional served as the inaugural Director of the MPA program as it welcomed its first students in 2008. Dr. Keehley’s passion for public service and dedication to SUU students continues, as she currently will match any donations to this scholarship fund up to $5,000. Thank you Dr. Keehley!!
Scholarship Details:
This scholarship supports students as they become fully armed with academic training and critical competencies in pursuit of their contribution to society.
The Keehley Scholarship Committee reviews applications based upon the following criteria:
- Financial Need
- Professional and Educational Goals
- Applicant Circumstances
- Overall Quality of Essay Submitted

The MPA Directors Experiential Learning Scholarship
Background:
SUU engages students in a personalized and rigorous experiential education, empowering them to be productive citizens, socially responsible leaders, high achievers, and lifelong learners. MPA classes focus on developing the ability to reason critically, analyze important dimensions of public service, and communicate as a leader with an informed and ethical perspective on key public administration and policy issues.
Scholarship Details:
This Scholarship opportunity launched in 2022 and will be presented to a student (or students) in Spring 2023. The Directors Experiential Learning Scholarship is designed to support students in the pursuit of experiential learning events, including the MPA Study Abroad experience, as well as travel costs and participation in a professional conference or other professional activity.
As we advertise the scholarship application in Spring 2023, we are looking for alumni to help serve on the Scholarship Committee and decide on the award(s).
