Undergraduate Research
The Walter Maxwell Gibson College of Science values undergraduate research opportunities for our students. That is supported by holding an annual Research Symposium, supporting the Undergraduate Research Club, and supporting undergraduate research fellowships through the L.S.and Aline W. Skaggs Foundation, and the W.M. Gibson Research Endowment.
Research Symposium
The College of Science at Southern Utah University holds an annual Research Symposium each fall, showcasing student-faculty research in the college.
Research Fellowships
The Walter Maxwell Gibson endowment provides funding and fellowships to conduct undergraduate research and projects.
Conference Funding
The College of Sciences supports students presenting their undergraduate research findings at regional
SUU Connect Grants
CONNECT Grants provide $100-$500 awards to support student research or conference attendance.
Mini-Grant Funding
CoNS Majors may apply for undergraduate research Skaggs mini-grants of up to $500 in funding for field work or supplies.
