Bill Byrnes, Dean of the College of Performing and Visual Arts at Southern Utah University, is pleased to announce the debut of a new Fine Arts website and telephone hotline. The website and phone system were designed to improve access to information concerning the wide variety of arts events on the SUU campus.
A link to the new website now appears on the SUU homepage, www.suu.edu, under the link title, “Fine Arts Events.” Or, campus and community members can access the new website directly at www.suu.edu/arts. The new weblink is an information gateway to the arts and entertainment calendars maintained by the College. It will also feature updates on specific concerts, recitals, lectures, exhibitions and theatre and dance performances.
Additionally, the new telephone number for up-to-the-minute campus Arts information is 435-865-8800. This service provides easy-to-follow choices to guide the caller to information about events in each of the artistic disciplines within the College, including Art, Music, Theatre and Dance. Callers can also be connected to any of these SUU departments through this single number.
“During normal business hours callers will be able to talk to representatives from the departments who will be ready to answer questions,” Byrnes explains. “After-hours callers will be able to leave messages for the department representative. Our goal is to call people back as promptly as possible.
“I feel confident the campus and community will find these new services helpful,” Byrnes elaborates. “An important part of our educational process includes bringing audiences into contact with the talented students and faculty on our campus. Moreover, many of the events are free to the public. We hope these new information services will make it easier to find out what’s happening each day in the Arts at SUU.”
