Seven Great Faculty and Staff Retire from SUU

Seven retiring faculty and staff members of Southern Utah University were honored today at a luncheon on campus.By request of past retirees, an intimate luncheon, as opposed to the big retirement banquets of the past, was conducted in honor of commendable service to fellow faculty and staff and students. Retirees and their spouses conversed over their meal about retirement plans, memories, and the future of SUU. They also will received a special gift of appreciation from the SUU administration.
President Bennion, along with other senior administration representatives, were on hand to reminisce and applaud the service to the Institution of these seven fine individuals. Together, they have provided 186 years of great contributions to SUU.
Bonnie Bishop Associate Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences has been teaching students at SUU since 1969; See “A Family Tradition” story at http://www.suu.edu/alumni/magazine/spring02/tradition.html
She was named Distinguished Educator in 1989
David Braegger Associate Professor of Biology has been teaching students at SUU since 1965
Dan Dail Associate Professor of Agriculture has been teaching students at SUU since 1988
Margaret Dixon Associate Professor of Special Education has been teaching students at SUU since 1993
Richard Tebbs Professor of Mathematics has been teaching students at SUU since 1965
He was named Outstanding Educator in 2002
John Hayes Technical Director in the Centrum has been serving students at SUU since 1994
Maxine Stolk Registrar has been serving students at SUU since 1975
She was named Outstanding Staff Member in 1986
