Live Music and Las Vegas Flare showcased in Journeys

Guest choreographer and Original Composition featured in upcoming SUU Dance ConcertExperience the talent and athleticism of the SUU dance faculty and students in Journeys: Faculty Dance Concert. The SUU College of Theatre Arts and Dance presents Journeys, March 6th through 10th, at 7:30 p.m. in the SUU Auditorium.
Tickets are available in advance at the ticket office 435-586-7878 and at the door, and are $10 for General Admission, $8 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $5 for students with a non-SUU student ID, and Free for SUU Students with a valid SUU I.D
Journeys: Faculty Dance Concert combines the chorography of faculty, guest, and student artists to create an exhilarating audience experience. The concert also features the original percussion piece, Rhythmic Exchanges, composed by SUU Music Professor Patrick Roulet, which will be performed by a live-onstage percussion ensemble.
Shauna Mendini, Theatre Arts and Dance Department Chair states, “I am personally looking forward to presenting Rhythmic Exchanges, a collaborative project with Patrick Roulet, Assistant Professor of Music. It is projects like this that renew the spirit and provide an excellent opportunity for creative growth.
Guest choreographer, Peter Chu has taught and choreographed for the Houston Metropolitan Dance Co., The Juilliard School summer dance, Busan International Beach Dance Festival (Korea), the cast of Le Reve created by Franco Dragone, Edge Scholarship Show in LA, Le Domaine Forget Summer Intensive in Charlevoix, Quebec, and for the Invito Alla Danza Festival 2003 in Rome. Currently, Peter is enjoying his time performing for the Celine Dion show, A New Day, in Las Vegas.
Mendini states, “There is a high level of excitement in anticipation of this concert. The choreography created by guest artist, Peter Chu is breathtaking. A guest artist residency such as this helps us accomplish artistic and educational goals that can be shared with the community. It provides a wonderful partnership.”
