The School of Business at Southern Utah University is delighted to announce the details of the next installation in the Wells Fargo Executive Speaker Series, all for the benefit and education of students, employees and the community at large.

On March 8, Lesa Hallady Ward, a successful alumna of SUU’s School of Business, and former manager of the eBay, Inc., will speak on “"Playing to your Strengths."

Beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Starlight Room, Ward will offer some insightful nuggets of information on how to survive and excel in the world of business. She will share some of her experiences from her time as a software production manager for Internet Shopping Network, a marketing coordinator for Multicom Publishing, and an investigations manager at eBay. School of Business Dean, Dr. Carl Templin, describes Ward as a dynamic presenter.

Ward graduated from Cedar High School in 1991 before pursuing her higher education at SUU where she also played on the Thunderbirds’ softball team. Her major area of study was accounting and management. Lesa is currently serving as a volunteer in several capacities in her community.

The Wells Fargo Executive Speaker Series allows students and the southern Utah community the opportunity to work alongside and learn from professionals with specific fields of interest. "The program will create beneficial bonds between businesses and our students," Templin says, "so that the latter can tap into the business executives’ expertise on a long-term career basis."

The lecture Series features accomplished business executives from a variety of industries throughout Utah and beyond, who share their professional knowledge on timely business issues that affect us all. The inaugural speaker was Patricia Richards, senior vice president and regional manager of Wells Fargo, who spoke on the "Three Rules of Leadership." Other Wells Fargo Executive Speakers at SUU have included Leslie Snavely, executive with the Pepsi corporation, and Dr. Steven Sliwa, CEO and President of The Insitu Group which specializes in the innovative design, development and production of miniature robotic intelligence aircrafts.

Each installation of the Wells Fargo Executive Speaker Series at SUU is Free and open to the public.

"The impact the business executives have on students and employees during their visit," Templin comments, "enhances their lives and education by provoking thoughtful classroom discussions, workshops and practical application."

Wells Fargo supports programs that impact and provide vital service to the campus and community. Likewise, SUU strives to be a resource to southern Utah for information that facilitates citizens to engage in lifelong learning. These two entities partnering together on the Business Executive Speaker Series is a valuable package for the benefit of all participants.
