Students of Southern Utah University's College of Computing, Integrated Engineering and Technology (CIET), will host a "focus day" event on campus Thursday, April 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m., in the Convention Center lobby of the Sharwan Smith Student Center.

Student association CIET Senator Trevor McDonald, a junior Integrated Engineering major from Cedar City, Utah said, "This event will provide an opportunity for students and the community to learn more about the programs and organizations within CIET, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics and Math Education, Integrated Engineering, Electronics and robotics, CAD/CAM design, and Construction Management."

The event is billed as a relaxed environment where the attendees can mingle with the dean of the college, college advisors and senators, clubs within the college, and faculty members representing programs with the College of CIET.

There will also be free food and a drawing for an iPod.

McDonald adds, "holding this Focus Day towards the end of the semester will help the students learn more about this college and hopefully enroll in a club or program offered in the fall. The College of CIET is still relatively new, and we want to do all we can to educate students and the community of its amazing opportunities."
