Business Exec. Speaker Series to begin with International Perspective

Southern Utah University's school of Business will begin this year's Wells Fargo Business Executive Speaker Series with a presentation from Dr. Thomas Ratka, a specialist in international business law, on Thursday, October 29, at 11:30 a.m. in the Sharwan Smith Center Theater. 

In his presentation, "Cross-Border Companies and the ECJ's 'Centros' case - The European Delaware," Dr. Ratka will discuss issues within corporate international law facing businesses that cross geographical borders, giving students a glimpse into an international business perspective. 

Through his studies and work throughout Western Europe, Dr. Ratka has become a specialist in international company law, capital market law and European Union international law. Ratka offers a unique international view of the business world. 

Dr. Ratka is originally from Vienna, Austria and holds a doctorate degree in commercial law and contemporary history from the University of Vienna. He also holds law, history and philosophy degrees from the University of Vienna.
