Southern Utah University’s Friends of the Library will be holding three workshops this spring, beginning Wednesday, January 27, in the Sherratt Library.
Many topics will be covered over the semester, including family history research, digital photo touch-up, and free software.
This Wednesday’s workshop, "Preservation Techniques for Book, Print and Digital Photos", will cover the proper care and storage of photographs and documents as well as how to do simple book repairs for old and fragile books. The workshop will take place in the Library’s Special Collections at 4 p.m.
Anyone who has joined the Friends of the Library at the Associate Level is invited to attend the workshop for no charge. Others are invited to attend at a $10 charge for materials.
In addition to this first workshop, the Friends of the Library will also host "Family History Research at the Library" in February and "Free Software: The Open Source Software and What it Means to You" in April.
