The concert will include: Chien‐Ying Wang’s world premier of Fleeting Moment, Burch Mann’s Saturday Night at Big Bill Brunsey’s and Shauna Mendini’s Mass. This year’s concert will conclude with Alwin Nikolais’ Masterpiece, Imago.

The featured piece of this concert will be the masterpiece, Imago by Alwin Nikolais. A grant from the National Endowment for the Arts American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius, has given the SUU Department of Theatre Arts and Dance the opportunity to license this piece from the Nikolais‐Louis Foundation for Dance. Because of funding from this grant, SUU students had the privilege of re‐staging Imago in January with current Murray Louis and Nikolais Dance, Artistic Director, Alberto del Saz.

SUU has the honor of being the first University in the world to re‐stage Imago.

Another unique aspect of this concert will be Shauna Mendini’s Mass.

Composer John Mackey originally wrote this piece for The Julliard School but has given SUU the honor of performing this piece for this year’s concert. This work is a collaborative piece that will feature percussion musicians from the Department of Music under the direction of Dr. Lynn Vartan and dancers from the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance.
