With six national parks down the road, beauty and adventure lies just beyond SUU's doorstep.
Whether students have not yet seen the natural wonders of southern Utah or know them well but just can't get enough of the great outdoors, SUU Outdoor Recreation has the perfect jump start to the Thunderbird student's fall semester.
Beginning Saturday, August 28, students can join campus-sponsored day trips to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon or Zion National Parks. These bus trips will run the first three weekends of the semester and are open to all students.
These trips provide a unique opportunity for newcomers to become more acquainted with their new southern Utah surroundings while also introducing them to like-minded students interested in outdoor recreation.
Students may register for all three weekends in the SUU Outdoor Recreation Office within the Sharwan Smith Student Center (room 176) until all spots are filled.
The expense for these trips will vary depending on which destination a student selects, though no single trip will be more than $25. This charge will cover transportation, park admission and the price of a guided tour.
