With companies around the nation treading water just to stay afloat in an uncertain economy, business owners are grasping at anything that can help keep their doors open.
Roger Clawson, owner and CEO of Golden Spoon Franchising, has at least one piece of advice to give to businesses large and small: Find your purpose.
To inspire local businesses and future business owners in this pursuit, Clawson will present “Building a Purpose-Driven Business” as part of the Wells Fargo Business Executive Speaker Series through Southern Utah University's School of Business this Thursday, February 17, at 11:30 a.m. in the Sharwan Smith Student Center Theater.
Clawson is certainly qualified to be handing out advice to businesses, after growing the Golden Spoon chain from just 22 locations in 2000 to more than 130 in 2010. The company also has plans to add 70 additional sites over the next five years, including locations in Japan, the Philippines and Canada.
Clawson received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University, where he also played football for two years.
A limited number of tickets to a free luncheon with Clawson are also available for SUU's business students, and can be obtained by contacting Candice Houston at 435-586-5462.
