SUU Wind Symphony in Concert on December 7

With a program of rapturous music including celebrated works by Mozart and Brahms, SUU’s Wind Symphony Concert will be a perfect holiday evening for the family.

Directed by Dr. Douglas Harris, the symphony will perform Wednesday, December 7, at Cedar City’s Heritage Center Theatre on Main Street. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $3 for students and youth and SUU students are free with a valid student ID.

The evening’s program includes “Cenotaph” (Fanfare for Band) by Jack Stamp, a selection from “The Marriage of Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, arranged by W.J. Duthoit, “Academic Festival Overture” by Johannes Brahms, arranged by Mark Hindsley, “Three Chorale Preludes” by William Latham, “Zion“ by Dan Welcher, “Light Cavalry Overture” by Franz von Suppe, arranged Loras Schissell, and, as a tribute to the holiday season, “The Sussex Mummers Christmas Carol” by Percy Grainger.
